Meet IdaBee Silicone Jewellery
Founded by a mum who wanted to create jewellery that was both fashionable and safe for her little ones. After Lene attended our last Little Market Place, we sat down with her and asked her a few questions about her collection.
For those who don't know, what is IdaBee?
IdaBee is a brand of silicone jewellery, made for mums to feel good, and to keep wearing jewellery even with little ones that grabs and pulls everything, that is baby friendly. IdaBee also has a line for kids, because it is non toxic and can help with behavioural, sensory and anxiety issues - as well as teaching them about colours, shapes and counting! IdaBee continuously moves forward, and there is lots in the works!
What made you want to start your business?
I was looking for something nice and colourful that was good to me, and good to my baby boy. I have never been big on jewellery, but the colours made me feel awesome on a tired day, and it was great for when my boy was nursing! I couldn't find what I was looking for, so made some for myself, and then others started showing interest in my jewellery. So from making something for personal use I now have a fully registered and insured business designing and hand making mumma jewellery, kids jewellery and soon teething rings, and I love what I do!
What is the best part about running your own business?
I love to design and use my hands, and I think it is awesome to meet so many great people while at markets, or through messages and emails. It has made me grow so much as a person, and as a mother. Being a mumpreneur is fantastic.
What is the hardest part about running your own business?
Not enough time!
We love that your pieces are baby friendly. What is your favourite Idabee piece?
I love my IdaBee Famke series. My favourite for a long time has been Famke BlueRise, but I have used Famke Peach a lot lately. Sometimes it is hard to decide what I want to wear!
Also, I am in absolute love with the new teething rings that will soon be available for the public as well. They are so so cute. And will be safe for baby to play and chew on!

You are very big in the Market Scene, how do you wind down after a big market day?
Wine. I do love the market scene, but there is a lot of preparations during the week, packing up and down the day before, at the market, pack out of the car, driving, early up, sometimes late home. It is all worth it though, I so love to meet all the gorgeous ladies! But yes, I do look forward to have that glass of wine!
